But this was to be our first road trip as a flat, and as a big fan of flat activities, this time I was oh so excited! (Maybe a little over excited.)
On Saturday afternoon, the instant my shift was over, I jumped straight out of the doors of Joules right into the doors of Ellie's little Punto.
Filled to the brim with the appropriate fuel - the car with petrol and ourselves with starburst - we were headed for Hawick to celebrate Silvia's 21st!
Ninety minutes and a few misleading roundabouts later, we finally arrived and it was soon time to start with the evening's antics.
Dresssed in a dark red, floor length number and adorned with jewellery from her Grandmother, given to her as a child, Silvia's look had a little Grecian feel to it. Doesn't she look incredible?!
The birthday girl had to leave us at her house (and trust us not to make a mess), as she welcomed her many guests at the cricket club just along the road.
In her absence we wasted no time and a few laughs, drinks and bottles of champagne later, we were ready to go!
The place was decorated so beautifully it was almost a reminder of Christmas and all those festivities - now a distant memory to most of us!
Unfortunately my love for food food got the better of me and I was too interested in eating as much of the buffet as I could I forgot to take a picture of it all! For the record, the display was just as delicious to the eye as it was to the lips. So much choice!
Paying homage to Silv's Italian roots, the boat load of fresh pasta was far from disappointing and I'm not even embarrassed to say I probably spent most of the night revisiting the buffet table...
Then it was time for happy birthday (Ally was the one to start the singing), and most importantly... birthday cake!
After making her birthday wishes, Silvia announced we were all to find a partner and play her party game.
This one involved a balloon and no hands were allowed.
In a laughable attempt to get the balloon from in between our knees up to our chins with no hands, my partner Grant and I were kicked out in round one.
Faye and Ashley on the other hand had the perfect technique and after attacking Silvia, the birthday girl and the judging body, they secured themselves first place and had that winning glow for the rest of the night!
Nobody can really remember much after this, and this is where the camera reel ends.
So as far as we're concerned what happens in Hawick, stays in Hawick and if there is no evidence, it didn't happen!
Travelling back to Edinburgh wasn't quite as easy as the outward journey as the combination of a hangover, travel sickness and a severe lack of sleep was not a nice one.

However, it did snow quite heavily and the views passing by were so pretty and wintry with snowflakes all fluff and sparkling!
I think this is a really lush story.
